With an astounding 1 person, I've been notified of the acknowledgment of my existence, so here's an update on my life.
I've recently been fiddling with a wireless adapter card I purchased for the computer I built a while back. But to my astonishment, he damn thing doesn't work on 64-bit operating systems! I've been trying to find some damn drivers for this thing,
but to no prevail. I checked the chipset manufacturer, linksys's suppport pages, forum topics skewed across the internet, and anything else I can get my hands on, and yet, nothing.
Because of my recent failure to fix the problem, I've been trying to get a new card altogether, hopefully one certified for Windows Vista 64-bit. Yet, for some damn reason, all the PCI cards I find, say nothing about 64-bit compatibility. not a single card in existance say's flat out "Certified for Windows Vista 64-bit." There are of course claims of "downloadable drivers" by forum dwellers who supposedly know what the're talking about, but nothing concrete. I've been following a lead from one of these forum threads for a week now, and nothing conclusive. Just drivers that don't seem to work.
I really don't want to get one of those ridiculous USB wireless adapters, but at this rate, I might have no other choice. Any suggestions?
Below: the bane of my existence

I need a new post, so here it is.
Last week, I went out and bought Borderlands. This is one of the few times I've actually gone out and purchased a game full price right after it first came out, but I made an exception for this one. Probably because its heavy anticipation prior to release I felt I might as well see what all the fuss was about.
Well, after playing it for about four days, I've become addicted to it. You can spend hours playing with three others and not even know it. Blasting away at the denizens of Pandora over matters of money and guns. Its just delightful. Even with its innovative game play, I have to say, the thing I like most about this game is its unique design. The almost comic book realm, fits incredibly well with its "pseudo-cell shaded graphics."
One problem that arises from this, is the fact that I cant stand to look at it for prolonged periods of time, contrary to the fact I tend to play it for hours on end. Its not that I physically can't, its just, I usually leave the computer dizzy and disorientated.
Another problem that has arisen while playing, is the Abysmal online function for the PC. Its absolutely horrendous. Its so awful, I think I'll have an aneurysm If I have to continue thought on the subject. If you ever get Borderlands, please, do yourself a favor and get game ranger to use the online feature. Please, think of the children.
Even with its ability to keep you playing for long periods of time, I don't entirely think it was worth the 50 dollars. But hey, if it helps gearbox produce more stuff like this, its worth it. Just, I hope to god they do a better job on the online function next time.

Perhaps another reason to spend my money?

It runs great playing new games, and apparently I set it up right seeing as there is no smoke after almost five consecutive days of running. but Jesus Christ its a hassle to get everything back to what I'm used to. ah well, the weeks almost over, and I'm almost done installing all the programs I had in my old computer. when thats done I'll get plenty of rest. I'ts so awesome being able to having the ability to play these awesome games, but it seems I haven't the time for gaming as of late. once my social life is in a better state I'll get back to destroying Nazis, robots, and those pesky unread with my pals.
Once I find the damn computer dock for the camera I'll show a picture of the computer.

And now that I look at this thing, Its beautiful *sniff* The only component I forgot I overlooked was the RAM. I ordered ddr2 rather than ddr3 not knowing that the motherboard I ordered required ddr3. Well, now I have to return the RAM I have and order some substantially more expensive RAM, but It will be worth it once It all comes together. come this Monday, I will finally be able to complete my First gaming computer!
Updated: 09/28/09 2:05 AM 4 comments | Log in to comment! | Share this!Ah, All this talk about new games to come out, make me optimistic seeing as very soon I Will have a computer able to play them with sufficient ease. I cant wait to play games like Bioshock 2, left 4 dead 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and even games that have been out for a while, but havent been able to enjoy due to my current computer's limitations. I Haven't heard much about the Batman game, But Nvidia is giving it away in as a promotional deal, and also to flaunt the gtx 260's graphics capabilities as well. but either way, Its supposed to be a graphically intense game, so It will be nice to at least experience it, and its free! Ah, this year promises to be a good one, and hopefully the next few to follow.
All I have to do now is order the parts, and I'll be well on my way to building my first Gaming PC!

On another note, I've started my quest to build a gaming PC and I'm pretty new to the concept. Luckily Igott showed me to a group of people that could help me find good parts, and etc. if anyone has any other kind of input it would be greatly appreciated.

On another note, I recently ran into a bit of trouble seeing as my hard drive sucks. and I have about no hard drive space left. I would love to get rid of some files or something only to find out that I have only about 10 GB of personal files like pictures, music, and word documents and such. the other 125 GB are games, games that I really don't want to get rid of! I'm conflicted! do I remove my games or risk not being able to put anything else on my computer forever...
I got to remove some games...
but which ones?

Cheap Piece of S***, and I don't mean price wise either! this thing cost me 80 bucks!
And as I'm putting it back in the box, the other damn side snaps off!
I'm so pissed right now
I put it back in the box though, and I'm gonna try to get a re-fund. I hope they buy it.
